Questions before you order
Will it scare my dog?
Honest answer: usually not, but sometimes yes. The clipper is quiet, and the grinder hums rather than snapping — most dogs settle once they work out that nothing is pinching them. Some dogs still refuse a grinder no matter how gently you introduce it.
What helps: switch it on across the room and let your dog hear it while they eat. Next session, hold it near a paw without touching. Only then do one nail, and stop there. Spreading the first few sessions over several days works far better than pushing through in one sitting.
Do I clip or grind — how do I actually use it?
Both, in that order. Step one: line the nail up in the clipper opening, with the LED on so you can see where the quick starts, and take off just the tip. Step two: switch to the grinding head and smooth the cut edge in short passes of two or three seconds.
The clipper does the work and the grinder does the finish. If your dog is nervous about the clip, you can skip it entirely and take the whole nail down with the grinder alone — it takes longer, but it is the gentler route.
Clippings drop into the built-in storage box rather than onto your floor. Empty it when you are done.
Does it work on black nails?
Partly, and it is worth being precise about which part. The LED works by shining through the nail, so on pale or translucent nails the quick shows up as a pink shadow. On a fully black nail the light does not get through — we would rather tell you that here than have you find out after it arrives.
What makes dark nails manageable is the grinding head, not the light. Take the nail down in short passes and look at the cut surface between each one: it stays dry and chalky while you still have room, and when a small dark dot appears in the center, you have reached the edge of the quick. Stop there. That method does not rely on seeing through the nail at all.
What if I go too far and it bleeds?
It happens to groomers too, and it looks worse than it is. Stay calm, because your dog reads you before they feel much of anything.
Press a clean cloth or gauze against the nail tip for a couple of minutes without peeking. Styptic powder from any pet shop stops it fastest; a pinch of cornstarch or plain flour pressed into the nail works if you don't have any. Keep your dog quiet for a while afterwards so the clot isn't knocked off.
If the bleeding hasn't stopped after about ten minutes, or the nail looks damaged rather than nicked, call your vet.
Will it handle a big dog's nails?
For most dogs, yes. On a large breed with thick nails, take the tip off in two or three smaller cuts rather than one, and expect the grinding step to take a little longer per nail.
If your dog has unusually thick or overgrown nails that have not been touched in months, the first trim is the hard one. Take a small amount off each nail, then do it again a week later. The quick recedes as the nail shortens, so several short trims get you further than one long fight.
What arrives, and how do I charge it?
The grinder and clipper itself, its grinding head, and a USB charging cable. Charge it fully before the first use — the indicator light on the body tells you when it is charging. There is a safety lock so it cannot switch itself on in a drawer.
It is cordless in use, so you can trim on the sofa or wherever your dog is most relaxed rather than next to a socket.
Why would I want two?
Two reasons, and neither is stocking up. If you have more than one dog, a second tool saves passing one between two impatient animals, and keeps each dog's grinding head to itself. And a lot of people buy the second one for a friend or family member with a dog, because everyone who owns a dog has the same problem with nails.
If neither applies to you, buy one. The single is the honest default.
Can I use it on my cat?
Yes. Cats have thinner, sharper claws than dogs, so gently press the toe pad to extend the claw, take the very tip off, and stop. Short passes with the grinder, and don't chase the whole paw in one go — most cats will sit for one or two claws at a time, and that is fine.

Most orders arrive within 7–12 business days of the day you place them, and you will get tracking as soon as it is on its way. We currently ship within the 50 U.S. states only.
What if I want to return it?
You have 30 days from delivery. Email support@lupdenstore.com with your order number, we approve the return and send you the address, and there is no restocking fee — ever. Change-of-mind returns need to come back unused and in their original packaging, and you cover the return shipping.
If it arrives damaged, faulty, or it isn't what you ordered, that one is on us: send a photo within 48 hours and we cover everything, usually without needing it back at all.
And if your pet simply will not tolerate it, email us anyway. A few small changes fix it more often than not, and if it still isn't working we will look at your return case by case.
